Gary Wayne Carter of Acworth, Ga. passed away on Friday, April 5th, 2024 in Acworth, GA.


He was born on October 4th, 1952 to Louis William Carter, Sr. and Alice Bertha Carter in Camden, New Jersey.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis, Sr. and Alice Carter; his sister, Eileen Black and his daughter, Heather.


Gary proudly served in The United States Marine Corps for 4 years. He worked as a conductor at Norfolk Southern Railways for 36 years. He loved hunting, the beach, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.


He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.


He is survived by his wife, Pam Carter; his daughter, Alyson Carter; stepson, Matt Swing (Kim); granddaughters, Brianna, Alyssa , and Savanna Swing and Evalynn and Skyler Rhines; brother, Louis Carter, Jr., and sister Dolly Carter and numerous nieces and nephews.


Memorial Service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024
