Joseph Francis Bergin, a resident of Legacy Ridge in Woodstock, passed away on Sunday, April 4th. He was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan, on June 7, 1929, to Mabel and Charles Bergin. Joseph was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and stationed in Japan. He worked for the Exxon Company for 35 years before retiring. Joseph loved to work in his garden at Legacy Ridge and grew many vegetables and beautiful flowers that he shared with the people there. We thank the entire staff for his care while he resided there for the past five years. He is preceded in death by his wife Lillian and daughter Therese. He is survived by brother Patrick Bergin of Pinehurst, North Carolina, sons Michael Bergin (Ellie) of Hilo, Hawaii, Dennis Bergin (Denise) of Acworth, and daughter Kathleen Chiri (Tony) of Woodstock. Grandchildren are Brian Chiri, Lisa Furlong(Kyle), Becky Lowham(Brandon), Melissa Bergin, Christopher Bergin (Claudia) Bridget Bergin, Nattie, and Justin Santana. Great-grandchildren include Kayla, Grace, Noah, and Savannah. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society in Joseph's name and memory.
