June Deloris Mccallister

June Dolores Davis McCallister, 87, of Rome Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain. She was born July 23, 1935 to Jimmy and Myrtle Davis. She married Jack C. McAllister on April 13, 1955 in Oceanside, California. She enjoyed her life as a military wife. She always had a military story or two, how they traveled across country with three kids, two dogs and a guinea pig! After 30 years in the Marines, her husband Jack retired, but they were by far retired! June had bought and had a restaurant waiting for Jack when he got home from retirement. Food was definitely June’s love language. She loved cooking and feeding the community, friends and family, including her 4 children, 13 grandkids, 6 great grands (with one on the way.)

She was preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Myrtle Davis; husband Jack C. McCallister; son Michael C. McCallister, and son-in-law Clive McChesney.

She is survived by children, Cheryl McChesney, Karen McCallister, Anna McCallister, Julie McCallister Mashburn and Eddie Ward; grandchildren, Christopher and Abby Daily, Haley and Brent Earls, Amanda and Chris Wiley, Taylor Mashburn, Monica McChesney, Christian McChesney, Liam McCallister, Andrew Ward, Miles McCallister, Tia McChesney, Lauren McChesney, Preston Ward and Cameron McChesney.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 14th 2023 at 4:00 PM at Post Oak Baptist Church, 1465 Bullard Road, Powder Springs, Georgia 30127.
