Linda Mcginty Johnson

January 29, 1948 — November 16, 2023

Linda McGinty Johnson, 75, of Kennesaw, GA passed peacefully into Heaven with her son by her side on November 16th, 2023.


She was born in Marietta, GA and was the daughter of the late Roy Thomas Pilgrim and Rosa Lee Pilgrim (Goss).


She is also preceded in death by her husband Sidney Rodgers Johnson, her brother Tommy Pilgrim Sr, her brother Roy Lee Pilgrim, baby sister Dorothy and baby sister Faynette.


Linda was a dedicated employee of many construction firms in the accounts payable department. She even drove into work the next day after hurricane Opal devastated the Atlanta area in Sept 1995. She was always interested in helping others and showing kindness to all. She made many friends and contacts in the construction industry.


Linda will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. She was a beacon of light and warmth to all.


Surviving family members include her son, Jason McGinty, her daughter-in-law Michelle McGinty, grandchildren Rachel, Jenna, and Sarah. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Pilgrim. her nephew, Tommy Pilgrim Jr, Tommy Jr’s wife Karen Pilgrim, and their daughter Kristy Covington and her husband Blake Covington. Linda is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jerry Johnson, Jerry’s wife Faye Johnson, sister-in-law Avorleen Adams, and sister-in-law Brenda Marshburn and her husband Don Marshburn.


Additional survivors include her best friends Nicole ”Georgia Daughter” Laffely, Karen Sebastian and her son Ryan Sebastian, Jerry Fair, and Stan Hula.


A celebration of life will be held at Copelands restaurant in Kennesaw, Georgia on December 16th, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. RSVP to Jason McGinty before attending.
