Peggy Joyce Bedford

Peggy Joyce Brinkley Bedford, age 86, passed away in Rome, GA on December 9th following an extended illness. Mrs. Bedford was born in Rome on April 4, 1935 to the late Edgar F. Brinkley and Docia Lumpkin Brinkley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William D. (Don) Carney in January 1984 and her second husband, Loyed Bedford in December 2019. Mrs. Bedford is survived by her son, Gregg Carney (Diane), grandsons Drew Carney and Beau Carney and great grandchildren, Andrew Carney and Brooklyn Carney, all of Rome. Mrs Bedford was employed for many years by Rome Manufacturing Company as a seamstress and supervisor. Following her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling and shopping. She was also dedicated to the care of her parents prior to their deaths. Mrs. Bedford was a member of The Church of theTransfiguration Episcopal Church and frequently attended Shorter Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Bedford's life will be honored with a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - Scottish Rite Hospital or the Children's Charity of your choosing.
