Sandra Darlene Benton

Sandra “Darlene” Carroll Benton left the land of the living on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Darlene was born in Rockmart on October 15, 1958. She was 64 years old.

She was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables and and loved to work in the yard. She was also an avid traveler. We travelled all over the US for several years. Most especially, she loved the beach with her daughters and grandchildren.

Darlene was also an exquisite cook making all manner of culinary delights with the frugality of someone with modest means.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Thacker and a niece, Shannon Sheriff.

Her surviving Mother, Jean Bivens lives in Cleveland, TN.  She has three sibling sisters; Tina Childers, Marie Hall and Sherry Brown.  She has two daughters; Tonya Peak and Brooke Benton.  She also has three grandchildren; Zoe Peak, Katie Peak and Anthony Peak.  Darlene was a loving soul that blessed everyone that she associated with.

Bruce Bowman was her caregiver for several years of chemo treatment that she endured to prolong her life.

The memorial service for Darlene is to be determined and will be sometime in June of 2023 when her grandchildren, mother and siblings can assemble.
