Stephen "Steve" Weston Bell Sr., 75, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, surrounded by family. Born on February 4, 1949, Steve was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, known for his dedication to his family, his work, and his passion for cars.
Steve was the former owner of Bell's Automotive, where he spent years building a trusted reputation in the community. He was married to his wife, Brenda Bell, for 44 years, sharing a lifetime of love, partnership, and memories. Together, they raised their three children, Stephen Bell Jr., James Bell, and Melissa Sue Lewis. Steve was also a proud grandfather to Jackson, Rowan, Riley, Weston, Palmer, and David, finding joy in every moment spent with his grandchildren.
Steve had a love for football, especially the Florida Gators, and NASCAR, often watching races and games with enthusiasm. He also found peace in his garden, tending to flowers with the same care and attention he gave to his family and friends. His sense of humor brought light to every room, and he could always be counted on for a good laugh.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, James Cummings and Martha Sue Bell; his brother, Thomas Bell; and many family members who awaited him with open arms. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Bell; his son, Stephen, and his children, Jackson and David; his son, James, and his wife, Sara, along with their children, Weston and Palmer; and his daughter, Melissa Sue, and her husband, Greg Lewis, along with their children, Rowan and Riley; and extended family, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
A private service will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in Steve’s name.
