Albert Arthur Friesen, 95, moved to Heaven on June 14, 2020. He is survived by his daughters Rose Fisher (John) of Albany, GA, Donna Wigton (Doug) of Tucson, AZ and Martha Friesen of Smyrna, GA; two granddaughters, Amanda Skelley (Richard) of Albany, GA and Melissa Cloud of Leesburg, GA; by great grandchildren Laura Cloud, Layton Cloud and Will Skelley; by his brother Harold Friesen (Diane) and sister-in-law, Louise Friesen. He was preceded to Heaven by his wife of 71 years, Roberta Greer Friesen; by son Dan Friesen and his wife Bonnie; and five siblings. Albert was born February 4, 1925 in San Antonio, TX and grew up there. He worked at Walt Disney Productions in Burbank, CA before joining the Air Force in 1946. He met Roberta at a USO dance while he was stationed at Donaldson AFB in Greenville, SC. After they wed, he served at bases in Texas and California as a recreational specialist and musician until 1954, when they moved to Charlotte, NC. In later years they moved to Georgia to be closer to family. "Al" was a long time employee of Checker Cab Co., and an avid woodworker and craftsman. He played the drums and enjoyed music, especially of the Big Band era. He never hesitated to go out of his way to help people and freely shared his sense of humor, especially entertaining children, when talking like Donald Duck. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
