Amanda Grace Black

In the providence of our Lord, Amanda Black was called home to be with Him. Amanda loved the Lord Jesus and faithfully served His church. She was a kind and good friend to us all. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. Amanda was born in Columbus, Indiana on January 14, 1977. She grew up in the Chicago suburbs and moved to Georgia when she was 15. She graduated from Cartersville High School with honors. She attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Communications and Religion. She then earned a Masters of Theological Studies from Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She lived in the Holland, Michigan, area for twenty years before returning to Georgia. She worked for Group Tour Media for thirteen years. Amanda was a faithful member of Riverside Community Church in Cartersville, where she served as the Technical Director. She was a Technical Writer for ISPA/Thinkpath, Inc. Amanda is survived by her parents, Douglas Edward Black and Loretta Sue (McKinney) Black, Uncle Greg Black (Aunt Pam), Aunt Linda Elwell (Uncle Jim), Cousins Amber , Adam, and James Jenks and Andy, Lora, Emmitt, and Ellie Black. She will be missed by her lifelong friends, April and Robert Lanham, Tina Cooper and Candy Mansfield. Her beloved cats, Scottie and Callie, remain behind in the care of her parents. We will be celebrating Amanda's life on Saturday, September 3rd at 2 PM. The service will be held at Grace Church PCA in Canton (1160 Butterworth Rd. Canton, Ga 30114.)
