Amanda Marie Leatherwood

Amanda Marie Leatherwood, 54, went home to be with the Lord on May 14th, 2022. Amanda was born August 5th, 1967 to Joyce and Frank Reed. She was born in Birmingham, AL and spent much of her childhood in Fultondale, AL. She met and married her former husband, Donald Leatherwood and moved to Marietta, GA shortly thereafter. Together, they raised three children. Later in life, they went their separate ways but remained best friends, often spending time together. Amanda devoted her entire life to her children. She spent many hours reading to her children, watching television with them and making sure they had the best of everything. She said many times that her children were her source of happiness and reason for being. She enjoyed listening to her records and cds. Her favorite artists were Eddie Rabbitt, Kenny Rogers, Alabama and Nickelback. To know Amanda was to love her. Her energy and compassion for others made her a bright light that touched many. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Frankie Reed. Survivors include children: Crystal (Brian) Green of Cedartown, GA, Jessica (Travis) Stroup of Lawrenceville, GA and Steven Leatherwood of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Landon, Claire & Madeline, as well as her siblings Josh Reed of Blue Ridge, GA and Julie Lacey of Gainesville, GA. She also has many cousins, nieces and nephews. Leaf Cremation in Acworth, GA is serving the family in carrying out Amanda’s wishes for cremation. “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
