Anna Marie Beach Mayfield, 79, passed away Friday evening, January 17th, 2025, in Acworth, GA, surrounded by her loving children.
She was born on November 21st, 1945, in Springfield, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Theodore Paul Beach and Jeanette Rosanna Beach.
She was also preceded in death by her dear brother Gerald “Jerry” Eugene Beach in 2016.
The oldest of five children and the only girl, Anna Marie became a natural caregiver at an early age. Her younger brothers remember her fondly as helping her parents care for them, and they loved attending Cincinnati Reds games by her side. She attended her freshman and sophomore years of high school at Springfield (Central Catholic) High School and her junior and senior years at Belmont High School in Dayton, OH, graduating in 1963. After marrying, Anna Marie pursued her cosmetology license and was a successful beautician before starting a family in Dayton, Ohio. She enjoyed sharing her hair-styling talent throughout her life with family, friends, and neighbors, often carrying her hair-cutting tools in case someone needed a trim, color, or perm. She was a fantastic mother, always sure to get her boys to ball practice, games, Cub Scouts, campouts, church, and her daughter to dance classes, Girl Scouts, and endless sleepovers. She poured into their lives with an energy and love unmatched by any other. In the early 1980s, she began working at Revco Drugstore (which later became CVS) to support her family. She had a successful career as Assistant Manager and was admired by many for her incredible work ethic. Her greatest joy in life was bringing together and being surrounded by her family. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her as being up for any adventure and an overwhelming desire to cook and feed everyone and provide them with as many sweet treats as possible, especially her infamous milkshakes. She was known as a “road warrior” as she would often drop everything to drive hours and hours to help her loved ones in need and attend her grandchildren's numerous games, recitals, and ceremonies. Selfless and compassionate, she nursed several family members through illnesses and death and was always an advocate for those who were suffering. Originally an Ohio native, she also raised her family for several years in Georgetown, Delaware, eventually landing in upstate South Carolina, where she lived for forty-four years. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Her four children survive Anna Marie: Gary Robert Allen (Shannon) of Cary, NC; Keith Roger Allen (Kim) of Savannah, GA, Steven Michael Allen of Greenville, SC; Theresa Marie Fix (Jeremy) of Acworth, GA, eleven grandchildren; Justin Allen of Raleigh, NC, Nathan Allen (Jordan) of Huntersville, NC, Mason Bailey and Hailey Allen of Cary, NC, Jacob Allen of Greenville, SC, Skyler, Ashton, and Camden Allen of Savannah, GA, Anna, Evan, and Sarah Fix of Acworth, GA and brothers Daniel Beach (Debbie) of Dayton, OH, Tom Beach (Kathy) of Dayton, OH, and Paul Beach (Mary) of Beavercreek, OH.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Greenville, SC this Spring. Additional details will be forthcoming.
