Anthony Gerald Merritt

Anthony (Tony) Gerald Merritt, 57 of Acworth, GA went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 6, 2020 in Cartersville, GA. Tony was born May 20, 1963 in Portland Oregon. Much of Tony’s career was in the carpentry industry where he traveled multiple times including overseas to China and Japan. After working in Washington state for many years he retired in 2018 and moved to Georgia. Tony was known for his quick wit and hilarious sense of humor. He was a natural people person, and a one of a kind individual that brought much joy to those around him. He is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Merritt of Angola, IN; grandson, Paxtyn Triplett; daughter Courtney Merritt of Sarasota, FL; father, Gerald Merritt (Pearl) of Acworth, GA; brothers, Ted Bailey of Cartersville, GA; Billy Bailey (Krissy) of Taylorsville, GA; Mark Scott (Rhonda) of Adairsville, GA; sisters, Shawni Pappariella (Doug) of Acworth, GA; Kristie Miller (Tim) of Acworth, GA. also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally J Tallmadge; sisters, Joanne Elizabeth Merritt Roe; Bridget Pearl Clodfelter. Tony’s celebration of life service will be at 3:00 PM, Friday August 14 at Creekside Fellowship Church 585 Old Alabama Rd SE, Cartersville, GA 30120 with Pastor Michael Abernathy officiating.
