Antonio “Tony” Fujihira, 69, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2025.
Born on November 19,1955 in Saipan, a Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Tony was the son of Orodico M. Seman and Ignacia Fujihira. Tony grew up with his siblings - Maria, Jesus, Francisco, Andresina, Jose, Julie, Ana, Joaquin, Odorico and Thomas - in Saipan before leaving to pursue an education in the United States. Tony moved to Florida in 1976 and attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where he graduated in 1979 with a degree in Advertising. While in Florida, Tony met and fell in love with Maureen Flanagan, and they were married in 1981. They had two sons, Brandon and Wesley, before the family moved to Roswell, Georgia.
Tony's career led him to positions at CVS, Blessed Trinity High School and Roswell High School before retiring in 2020. He was a gifted photographer and, in his younger years, an enthusiastic and avid runner. Throughout his life, Tony had a deep love for baseball cards and spent much of his downtime rooting for his beloved Atlanta Braves. As a dad, Tony loved cheering on his sons during their football games and wrestling matches. But perhaps his proudest moments were spent as the "Great One," the spunky moniker given to him by his grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maureen (Flanagan) Fujihira; his two sons, Brandon (Kelly) of Cumming, Georgia, and Wesley of Roswell, Georgia; his two grandchildren, Oliver and Maggie; his siblings and step-siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will take place at Saint Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, Georgia on March 28, 2025 at 3:30 followed by a celebration of life on May 17th at a private residence in Cumming, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Atlanta Braves Foundation in memory of Tony Fujihira.
Tony's smile and recognizable chuckle lit up a room, and we will miss him greatly. Tony leaves a special place in our hearts that will live on forever.
