Born on October 15, 1941, in St. Clair, Alabama, Howard's life was a testament to the strength of family, the joy of companionship, and the value of hard work.
Howard was the treasured son of the late Arthur Howard Kirksey Sr. and Kennedy Hunter Kirksey. He grew up surrounded by the love and support of his parents and siblings, including his late sisters Mamie Louise Kirksey, Maggie Kirksey, Mildred Sandlin, and brother Felix Kirksey. His life was further enriched by his marriage to his late wife, Mamie Nell Felton Kirksey, with whom he shared countless cherished moments.
A proud graduate of Moton High School in Leeds, Alabama, Howard was known for his diligence and determination. These traits carried over into his professional life, where he dedicated many years as a construction worker and lead steel injection molder at Anderson Electric. His work ethic and reliability earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues throughout his career until his well-deserved retirement.
Howard's zest for life was apparent in his numerous hobbies and interests. He was a man who found great pleasure in the simple things – whether it was grilling for family and friends, swaying to the music as he danced with his wife, or enjoying the tranquility of fishing with friends. Howard's competitive spirit shone through during lively games of dominoes and cards with his children and grandchildren, moments that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
