Cynthia Sue (Bambi) Maxwell, passed away unexpectedly November 29, 2021. Born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 20, 1954 to the late Howard Graham Maxwell and Edna Ruth Baird Maxwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ann Maxwell. Bambi is survived by her brother, Harland Maxwell, and many friends and cousins who always enjoyed her company, kindness, gentleness, and wit. Her academic achievements were outstanding. She placed third in a state spelling bee. Her 1410 SAT score earned her STAR student. She was a National Merit Finalist, a Governors Honor participant, and won a full scholarship from Lockheed to go to her dream college of William and Mary. She was a lifetime MENSA member since 1982, through which she met some of her closest friends. Her love of knowledge and language made her a brilliant conversationalist, and her sharp wit was renowned. One of the life decisions she consciously made was to stay in Atlanta to take care of her ageing parents. While her brother and sister were living in other states, she lovingly took care of them while still holding a full-time job. She was a godparent many times over, leaving a legacy of love in future generations. Her love of animals meant that sometimes as many as a half dozen would be sharing their home with her. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 11 at 10AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 1826 Killian Hill Drive in Lilburn. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation honoring her to a charity of your choice. She cared for everyone, so choosing a particular cause at the expense of others doesn't seem appropriate. Simply knowing that she helped others would make her happy.
