Barbara Burchart

Barbara Margaret Burchart Phillips, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Rome, Georgia, on July 11, 2023. Barbara was a pillar of strength and resilience from a young age. Born on February 23, 1948, in Richmond, Virginia, to parents Samuel and Maybelle Burchart. Barbara was raised by her father and stepmother, Jane Burchart. Barbara was a woman of faith who dedicated her life to her family and her spiritual journey. Raised alongside her brothers, Leslie Burchart and Samuel Burchart Jr., These family members preceded her in death.

She pursued her passion for precision and detail through her education, earning a certificate in Mechanical Drafting. Her analytical mind and personable nature led her to a successful career in the sales industry, where she was known for her integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.

However, Barbara's true calling was found away from the office. Leaving the workforce, she embarked on a spiritual journey to spread the Gospel, becoming a beacon of light to those around her. A devoted Christian, she found solace and joy in reading the Bible and sharing God's word. Her faith was unwavering. Barbara touched the lives of many with her kindness and spiritual wisdom.

Barbara was a loving mother to her daughters, Cathy Bhattacharjee (Phillips) and Diane Phillips, who will remember her as a source of unconditional love and guidance. She was a grandmother to 6 grandchildren - Joshua, Ryan, Brett, and Bradley Newell, and Ryleigh and Dalton Cardwell, who will cherish memories of their grandmother's sense of humor. Barbara was recently blessed to have a great-grandson named Jackson Newell.

Barbara's life was a testament to her faith and her love for her family. Her spirit, her strength, and her unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate a life of adventure, a life that was filled with love, faith, and service to others. Barbara Margaret Burchart Phillips will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched.

A small family service will be held for Barbara in Lakeland, Florida at a later date
