Barbara Jean Feeman Rhoads, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 @ approximately 11:10 am EST. She was born on October 17, 1932 to parents Samuel and Susan Feeman in Lebanon, PA. Barbara was a great student and spirited cheerleader at Lebanon High School. After graduating high school she went to work as a secretary for Amp, Inc. for several years until transitioning over to the real estate industry where her entrepreneurial drive led her to a successful career in California, Colorado and eventually in Georgia as a Real Estate Broker before retiring in the early 2000's. Bobby, as her sisters called her, was a strong woman of faith and spent her Sundays enjoying the music of the youth choir at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Throughout her life, she moved to the beat of her own drum, never settling for the status quo. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast, and had an endearing love for animals. Her positive energy and kind heart is why she was always known as Nana, not just to her grandkids, but to all the kids in her neighborhood. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 50 years, Robert Rhoads, sisters Patricia McKinney and Rosemarie "Cissy" Miller, daughter-in-law Betsy Espina Gensler, grandsons Ryan Samuel Gensler, Chad Robert Gensler, and Matthew Ross Gensler, nieces Sue Neuin, Lynne Farkas, Bonnie McKinney, Vicki Deitzler and Shelly Ebersole, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by son Steven Michael Gensler and nephew Michael McKinney. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, sister, Nana, Aunt "Bobby", and friend to many in the Marietta, GA and Lebanon, PA communities. She left us all with the gift of love and spread her kindness, generosity and compassion to all who knew her. BARBARA WROTE THIS POEM FOR HER HUSBAND AND FAMILY There is a portal we all must pass through We know not how or when For life is but a journey whose path will one day end The journey may be long or short It's not for us to know We must trust in our Lord to guide us Wherever our journey may go So weep not for me my children Weep not for me my wonderful husband Your gift of love was a blessing You were the light of my life But life is for the living There's still so much to see Embrace it with a passion And be all that you can be Hold on to the memories Both the good and the sad Be thankful and be grateful And cherish what we had I'll be watching from a distance Proud of all you do Knowing with contentment That I will live in you Yes, Life is but a journey Its length we do not know So live each day with the knowledge That you reap what you sow Live your life to the fullest Follow His Golden Rule Challenge yourself to be faithful In all you say and do Fill your life with flowers Water and watch them grow Tend them with a loving heart And happiness you will know So weep for me no longer Be filled with joy instead I'm at home with my Father On whose shoulder I'll rest my head.
