Carol Ann Musselman (McCarthy), age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Kennesaw, Georgia on May 4, 2023, from Vascular Dementia resulting from a fall/brain bleed in November 2022.
She was born September 7, 1939, in Madison, Wisconsin to Roy and Louise McCarthy. She is preceded in death by both her parents, and her three siblings, Dorothy Casey, Ted McCarthy from Madison, WI, and Charles McCarthy from Las Vegas Nevada.
Family was the greatest joy in Carol’s life. She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Ann Luscre, son-in-law Michael Luscre, II, daughter Keri Beth Musselman and her two cherished grandsons, Nicholas Luscre (Caitlin Corsetti Luscre), and Trey Luscre of Atlanta, Georgia; and her niece and nephew Michael and Patricia Casey. Carol loved dogs and especially her 8 grand(great) dogs.
If you knew Carol, you knew that her two daughters and two grandsons were her pride and joy. She boasted over them to everyone. Grandma Carol never missed a soccer game, school event, holiday or just about anything involving Nicholas and Trey. They were the light of her life, and they shared an incredible bond.
She lived the last 40 years in Marietta, Georgia where she built a strong network of friends. Carol had two daughters but was lucky enough to have several “adopted” friends who affectionately referred to her as “Mama Carol”. She was successful in her professional life in office management in the staffing industry for many years. After that, she joined the team at Murdock Elementary and worked in a variety of positions until she finally retired at 76!
After retiring, she kept a very busy schedule with her various “friend groups” playing bridge, mahjong, having lunch, strength training and walking daily. Her true passion was for the Atlanta Braves. She watched and attended many games and even attended the World Series Parade in 2022. She loved her home in Marietta and took immense pleasure in her beautiful garden like backyard.
Because she loved dogs so much, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Mostly Mutts – Kennesaw. 3238 Cherokee Street, Kennesaw, GA 30144. We will have a Celebration of Life on June 16, 2023, 11:00 am at:
