Charles "Joe" Smith, age 68 passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2019. Joe was born January 30, 1951 in Blue Ridge Ga to Wayne Henry and Louise "Bonnie" Smith. Joe enlisted himself into the military where he served in the Army and did two tours in Vietnam where he earned numerous medals as a paratrooper, such as a Bronze Star for his heroism also Purple Heart, The National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge. He later meet and married his wife Carol Joyce Stanton Smith and together, they raised two sons Timothy Smith and Jason Smith and a daughter Connie Smith Harper. Joe worked as a maintenance Supervisor where he built Concrete Plants and Rock Quarries all over the Southeastern United States. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the outdoors where you could find him in the garden wearing his liberty overalls. Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Anthony "Dee Dee" Smith, sister Ann Greene, loving wife Carol Joyce Smith, and son Charles Jason Smith. He is survived by his two siblings, Henry Smith and Cathy Orr, oldest son Timothy Smith, daughter Connie Harper, son-in-law Brian Harper daughter-in-law Karla Smith, grandchildren; Trent Harper, Lydia Harper, Cassidy Harper, Ashley Smith, and Jacob White.
