Charmaine Marie Jackson

Charmaine M Jackson, age 76 of Chickamauga GA, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 21, 2021 surround by her family at home. She was born to Richard E. and Gertrude Gibbens on July 13, 1944. Charmaine was born and raised in Michigan. She moved to the Georgia later in life. She worked for the Whitfield County Board of Education as a bus driver and custodian for many years. She later worked for School Outreach until she retired. She earned her GED while working for the county. She loved working and helping the children as well as the families. She served and developed some lifelong friendships with some of those families and many coworkers. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving and helping others. She served faithfully in the church wherever she was called to help others. She was a dedicated mother and spouse. She loved traveling and visiting with family, friends, and acquaintances. She consistently thought of others and helped where she could. She will be deeply missed by those her knew her. Charmaine was preceded in death by her husband Ronald G. Jackson, parents Richard and Gertrude Gibbens of Inkster MI, sister Barbara (Eugene) Johnson of Carrolton GA, brother Richard Gibbens of Garden City MI. Charmaine is survived by her two children, her son Captain (Dr) Frank C. (Markell) Stafford DO of Manhattan KS, and daughter Leesa C. (Justin) Fawson of Chickamauga GA, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; sister Loraine Frank of Livonia MI, brother Robert Gibbens of NM, brother Russ Gibbens of Dalton GA, sister Dorothy Prock of Chatsworth GA, and a number of other loving relatives and close friends. A celebration of life service will be held on July 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4226 North Highway 341, Flintstone, GA 30725. In her honor, please wear “loud” colors as those encompass her life here and after. Her remains will be interned at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
