Christine Little Greene

Christine Little Greene, 86, passed away on August 6, 2022. She was born in Commerce, GA on December 21, 1935, the daughter of the late Mary Jo Touchstone Little and Howell Park Little, Sr. Mrs. Greene was a former school teacher & member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Greene was always making life better for the community and young people in Cartersville by staying involved. Her column "Insight" ran weekly in the Tribune from 1976 - 1981. She taught adults in the basic portion of M.D.T.A. Program. She was the first woman to be elected to the Cartersville School Board, where she served as a member, secretary and president during 1968 - 1976. She operated a home video business. She served as president for the CC and North Georgia Ladies Golf Associations, and the Women's Bowling Association. She was a former member of the Service League. Mrs. Greene was the first president of the Cartersville Toastmaster. She was volunteer coordinator for the First Bartow Crisis Line and volunteered with the advocates for Bartow children. Mrs. Greene was published in the Feb/Marc 1982 issue of "Eastern Grape Grower And Winery News". Mrs. Greene's husband, James E. Greene, passed away in 2017. Survivors include her daughter and husband, Kathy and Jerry Silhavy; her son and wife, Jim and Tammy Greene; granddaughters, Jenna Silhavy, Krista and husband Adam Maddox; grandson, Jay and wife Lauren Greene; two great grandchildren, Easton and Aubrey; sister and husband, Liz and Jay Welsh and nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be at the Mausoleum at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville, GA on August 11, 2022 at 04:00 PM.
