Christopher Lee Makin passed away unexpectedly due to a tragic hit and run accident on January 15th, 2020 at the age of 47. He was born on August 16th, 1972 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which is where he spent most of his life. He received his journeyman's license for tool and die at AutoDie, and started his lifelong career as a die maker. He was very good at his job, and recently got his youngest son hired as his apprentice. He was very excited about teaching him everything he knew. In 2012, he moved to Columbus, Ohio where he worked for Honda. He was currently working as a contractor for a great company called ICS. This led him and his family to many different states. His last residence was in Emerson, Georgia. He was a hardworking, family man who always put others before himself. He had a contagious laugh, and a quick wit. He loved music, and was a drummer in several bands. Both of his children inherited his musical tastes, and talent. Chris is survived by his wife of 29 years, Leane R. Makin, his two sons, Ian L. Makin, and Isaac C. Makin, his parents Phillip E. Makin (Jackie Taylor), and Nancy C. Makin (Cox), step-sister Jessica Taylor, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many close friends and co-workers. He has touched so many lives, and will live on forever in our hearts.
