Curley Lee Gard

Curley (Kee-Kee) Gard, 96, passed away on May 5, 2024, in Hampton, Georgia. She fell asleep peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 24, 1928 in Bessemer, AL Curley was known for her happy, loving, caring, kind, generous, and funny personality.


Curley is survived by her son Patrick Gard, daughters Sandra (Steven Sr) Lewis, Dorothea (Kenneth) King, and bonus daughter Emma (Willie) Williams. She is also survived by her siblings Pearlie Mae Keller, Leola Pelt, and Fran Holloway. Grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.


She was preceded in death by her parents Tyler and Elizabeth Hooper, husband Solomon Gard, son Ronald Gard, and siblings Louis Hooper, Tyler Hooper Jr., Robert Lee Hooper, Rosetta Davis and Mable Hooper.


Curley attended Muscoda Primary School, Wenonah High School, and Alabama State College. She pursued a career as an Operating Room Ward Secretary. She had also served as a regular pioneer in the local congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses ministering to others.


In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, shopping, cooking, catching up with old friends over the phone, and meeting new people. She was a faithful member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.


Curley Gard will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
