Curtis went to be with our Lord and Savior on a Sunday, the Holiest of days. His mother greeted him with open arms, saying, "welcome home my precious angel".
Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Judith Bowers Richardson, their devoted children, Susan Keyes, Clayton Richardson, Jennifer Golwyn (Dr. Dan Golwyn); 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Curtis attended UGA, Emory and Duke Universities. He began his law career as a deputy assistant attorney general and a law assistant for the Supreme Court of Georgia, afterwards opening his own practice in Decatur, Georgia where he proudly served for 50+ years.
Curtis was a track star at Emory University and loved golfing, tennis and playing ball with his children. He loved playing the piano and the ukelele as entertainment for his young children. He enjoyed being an active member of his community, spreading joy to all.
We love and cherish you Pops. See you in Heaven.
The family is choosing to hold a private immediate family gathering but there will be a celebration of life held this spring for those that wish to attend.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made in Curtis "Pops" Richardson's name to Second Ponce De Leon Baptist Church https://www.spdl.org/ or to In Touch Ministries https://www.intouch.org/
