Danny Emerson Waldrop, age 68 of Cartersville, GA went to heaven on November 30, 2020, after an extended illness. He was the son of Mildred Rutledge Waldrop of Rome, GA, and the late Charles Hulon Waldrop. He attended Pepperell High School in Rome, GA. Danny proudly served in the US Army. He enlisted in the Army in 1970 immediately after high school. He finished up his military career on February 14, 1974, at Ft. Lewis Washington. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5, Rome, GA. Upon returning back to Rome after his military service, he attended Floyd Junior College. He worked for G.E then moved to Cartersville, GA, and worked for Adelphia’s Cable. Later he became the Owner-Operator of Cartersville Tire & Automotive, his last place of employment was with Wilson Automotive & Towing in Cartersville, GA, prior to becoming unable to work. Survivors include wife: Virginia Leming (Waldrop) of Cartersville, GA, his son: Jason Michael Waldrop, two brothers: Charles H. Waldrop, Jr. of Conyers, GA and James W. Waldrop of Rome, GA. Two granddaughters: Haley Nicole Waldrop and Peyton Diona Waldrop, three nieces: Tiffany Leming, Lacey Leming, and Kelli Waldrop along with several great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nephews to many to name. Hotrod as he was called by his family and close friends, was loved by all and will be greatly missed. His smile and wonderful personality were contagious. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
