David Glenn Woten

David Glenn Woten, 59, of Winter Haven, Florida, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 24, 2022.

A lifelong resident of Winter Haven, Florida, David was born on January 5, 1963 to Glenn and June (Miller) Woten. David was a graduate of Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Florida, and he was employed by Quikrete (formerly Forterra Pipe & Precast) in Winter Haven.

He was a licensed sailplane pilot and was a competitive golfer during his youth, having had the honor of playing in the Future Masters Tournament in Dothan, Alabama. David was a talented photographer who also enjoyed fishing and watching NC State and University of Georgia football. In addition to his daily early morning walking regimen of three to six miles, David loved his Saturday morning breakfast meetings at the First Street Diner with his “village”. He will especially be remembered for his gentle spirit and his witty sense of humor. David never met a stranger. He was a friend to all.

David was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his son, Andrew Glenn Woten (Katie), daughters Shelby Leigh Woten and Abigail Claire Woten, their mother, Suzette Woten, and a grandson, Charlie. David is also survived by Connie Sidwell, whom he adored, his two sisters, Susan Cooper (Scott) and Laurie Harvey, in addition to five nieces and nephews and one grand niece.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Beymer United Methodist Church, 700 N Lake Howard Drive, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
