Donald Eugene Smith

Donald “Duckey” Eugene Smith was born on January 21, 1942 in Brooklyn N.Y. Donald transitioned on December 4th, 2024. He was the son of Ruby and Harry Smith and is preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Smith, his parents, his siblings Jacqueline, Dolores, Debra, Joseph, his children Cheryl, Anthony and Evangelist, and grandson Tyron. 

Donald retired from the NYC Transit Authority after over 20 years of dedicated service and was a member of the Masonic Temple in NYC. Donald appreciated music, loved the Mets and the Giants, was a master Solitaire player, and loved playing card games with the family. Donald leaves behind his brother Harry, his children, Donna, Derrick, Wanda, Kim, Douglas, Cassandra, Darius and Donnell, 26 grandchildren and a host of great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Donald will be greatly missed and left the following words to the family:

Remember me in joy and laughter

For that’s the way I’ll remember you all

For if you have to remember me in tears

Then don’t remember me at all
