Dorothy Marie Lee

August 9, 1944 — February 16, 2025

Atlanta, GA

Dorothy Marie Lee (Rita), 80, from Atlanta, GA, transitioned to heaven on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

She was born on August 9, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, and was the second child born to the late Reverend Joe Ellis Robinson and Thelma Woods Robinson.

Dorothy graduated from IM Terrell High School in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1962 and married Billy Ray Lee in 1964. Two sons were born from this union: Berwyn Anthony Lee and Stephen Marquis Lee. Dorothy was always known as a sharp dresser. Friends would often say that Rita didn't leave the house unless her clothes and shoes matched and her makeup was done. In her spare time, she was a singer and songwriter. Her talent for singing allowed her to perform with various cover bands throughout the United States. Dorothy moved to Atlanta, GA, in 1979 with her sons. She was a loving mother and loved children. Her home was known as a gathering place for the neighborhood children.

Dorothy was preceeded in death by five siblings: her brothers Billy T. Robinson, John M. Robinson, Larry J. Robinson, Sherry Don Robinson, and her sister Linda Robinson.

She is survived by sons Berwyn Anthony Lee and Stephen Marquis Lee, granddaughter Ryan Lee, brothers Charles and Ferrell Robinson, and a host of nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends to many to name. She will be greatly missed by many.

"If I Should Go Tomorrow"

If I should go tomorrow

It would never be goodbye

For I have left my heart with you

So don't you ever cry

I gave you my love, and you can only guess

How much you've given me in happiness

I thank you for the love that you have shown

But now it is time I traveled all alone

So grieve for me a while, if give you must

Then let your grief be comforted by trust

It is only for a while that we must part

So treasure the memories with your heart.
