Edna Helen Wallace Edna Helen Wallace, born December 11th, 1954, in Glasgow, Scotland, passed away peacefully at her home in Dawsonville, Georgia, on December 23 at the age of 69. Predeceased by her parents, Edward, and Catherine Wallace, she is survived by her siblings: Catherine Ruffino, June May, and Thomas Wallace and her sons: Sean Falis (grand-children Jessica, Ryan, Connor, and great grand-daughter Hazel) and Robert Falis (wife: Alex and their children, Aaron, Abigail, Cameron, Shania). While we mourn the loss of our beloved mother, we celebrate a woman who embraced life and had a knack for finding joy in the simplest things. Edna (Mom/ Amber to those who were closest to her) loved nature and the outdoors, especially fishing. There was nothing better than to spend time near the water with good family and friends, having a laugh, and trying to catch a decent size fish! Anyone lucky enough to know her knew that she cared more about others than she did herself. Family was at the center of Mom's world. Her kids held a special place in her heart, and she made it a point to call us daily, just to check in, to let us know she loved us, and to give us tips on whatever it was she thought we could be doing better (whether we wanted to hear it or not). She loved us like no other ever will. As much as she loved us, she adored her grandkids. Not only the ones close by, but also the ones she was soon to meet when they moved to the USA. You never saw her smile so bright as the day she met her first great-grandchild Hazel. The day baby Hazel arrived was one of the greatest moments in her life. Two things were always true with Mom; She thought a great slice of pizza was simply paradise, the more meat on the pizza, the better and food was love. She had an uncanny ability to cook enough food for an army, even when there was no army in sight! We could never finish all the food, which was fine by her because that meant "leftovers" and she loved leftovers. Beyond her laughter and lightheartedness, Mom had a keen eye for detail. If she ever had a concern about something you were doing, whether it was financial, or the proper way to do things, she had a unique perspective and she was not shy about sharing it. She was always on the hunt for the best bargain, it was a personal mission. Even if we just wanted to "buy the damn steak already" she made sure she found the best deal so “we did not waste money we could use for other things”. Mom loved her community. She volunteered and advocated for so many, dedicating her time to the local food pantry and domestic violence support groups. She absolutely adored the Christian Motorcycle Association and wore her leather jacket with pride (even though she never had a motorcycle). While we are heartbroken over her loss, we will hold her in our hearts, and take comfort in the joy of our memories. As per Mom's wishes, no formal service will be held. We ask that you hold her memory close and cherish the joy she brought into your lives. In honor of her, and in lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations sent to your local food bank in her memory.
