He then joined his sister, Daryl, in Galveston TX in 1990 where we worked for AVW as the events coordinator. Ed moved to the Atlanta Georgia area in 1998 to join help open a restaurant with his daughter, Deana. For the next two decades, Ed pursued occupational interests with audio/visual support, engineering services, and postal service. He attended Gwinnett Technical College and earned an Associate’s Degree in Administration. He retired in 2016 and pursued volunteer work in the recovery community. Ed was able to do anything he set his mind to. He was a generous individual who loved his family. Ed never met an animal that didn’t love him as much as he loved them. His two Boston Terriers, Timmy, and Lexi adored him. He was also a faithful friend who was available to help anytime called upon. Ed was a believer in Jesus as his Lord and Savior and would always take the opportunity to talk to you about the church and how you felt about God and going to church. He was a member of 12 Stone Church and served there in multiple capacities over the years. Ed was passionate about recovery and spreading the message of hope in how he described himself as a “person in long-term recovery”. Ed had 29 years 7 months and 28 days in “long term recovery”. Ed’s most cherished passion was for his work with Navigate Recovery. He was working to become a Cares Coach so he could expand his efforts to carry the message of recovery. He was active in the recovery community through sponsorship and leading recovery meetings. He was also an active member of the Al-anon community. Due to limitations of the COVID virus, a memorial will be held at a later date and time (to be announced) in Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Navigate Recovery at https://navigaterecoverygwinnett.z2systems.com/np/clients/navigaterecoverygwinnett/donation.jsp The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Agape Hospice for their excellent care and service to Ed.
