Ernest L. Stanton, 80, of Gainesville, Georgia went to heaven on January 1, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and was the son of the late William and Mary Ruth Stanton. He was also preceeded in death by his wife, Barbara Stanton. He retired as an ironworker from Atlanta Steel Erectors Local #387. His favorite lifetime hobby was fishing; He also enjoyed eating Butter Pecan ice cream, traveling far and wide, spending as much time outdoors as possible, and loving his beloved wife, Barbara. He will be greatly missed by all of his family members and dear friends. He is survived by his children; son, Rickey Stanton of Danielsville, GA; son, David Stanton of Hartwell, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Mike Rizzo of Gainesville, GA; late son, Jason Stanton of Loganville, GA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Stanton and Michael Stanton; sisters, Betty Rawlins, Kay Gibson, and Sandra Obarr; late brother, James Stanton; late sisters, Dorothy Higgins and Wanda Stanton. Due to Ernest’s wishes, a celebration of life will commence at a later date, where his and Barbara’s ashes will be spread together.
