It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fernando (Fred) Dilme, age 72, of Kennesaw, Georgia, who departed this life on October 4, 2024. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and later relocating to the U.S., eventually settling in Conyers, Georgia, where he met the love of his life, Donna. Fred embraced life with unparalleled warmth, love, and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A devoted member of Catholic Church, first at St. Pius X in Conyers, GA and later Transfiguration in Marietta, Fred was a man of faith who embodied infinite kindness and compassion. He cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his sons, Edward (Amber) and Phillip (Melissa); and his daughters, Jennifer (Jason) and Ashley (Brandon). He also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren: Holden, Emily, Alex, Olivia, Blakely, Miller, Charlie, and Pierson, his Brother, Eduardo and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and his legacy will live on in their hearts.
Fred's life was filled with joy, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple moments. He was a pillar of strength for his family and friends, always ready with a listening ear and wise advice. His passion for helping people brought him great joy and connected him with many in the community. He found immense happiness in traveling, particularly cruising with his wife, enjoying food, relaxation and quality time.
A funeral service will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church on Monday October 14, 2024 at 10:30am, followed by a private memorial service at Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA. Family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating Fred’s life and the love he shared with those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Prostate Cancer Foundation honoring Fred's spirit and his commitment to helping others.
Fred Dilme, most commonly known now as Papa, will be dearly missed but will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
