On April 10, 1953, the radiant sun of George Carzell's life rose, bringing immense joy to his parents, the late Sammie Carzell and Mary Carzell Wade, formerly known as Mary Dingle. However, on December 3, 2023, George's sun gracefully set, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound legacy.
George's formative years were spent in the vibrant city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he attended Westinghouse High School. It was during this time that his extraordinary talent as a guitarist began to blossom. George's passion for music led him to join various bands, captivating audiences throughout the city with his mesmerizing melodies.
In search of familial connection and a desire to contribute to his father's roofing business, George made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia. This new chapter in his life not only allowed him to strengthen his bond with his father but also provided an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Throughout his journey, George experienced the profound love of marriage twice. His first union was with Sophronia, and later, he found companionship with the late Pat Patterson, formerly known as Pat Carzell. These relationships brought joy and fulfillment to George's life, leaving lasting imprints on his heart.
George's spirituality ran deep within him, and he harbored aspirations of becoming a pastor. His unwavering faith led him to St. James Spiritual Church Inc., where he dedicated over two decades of his life to the Music Ministry. As their devoted guitarist, George tirelessly served the congregation, sharing his divine gift and spreading the message of love and hope.
