Gerald M. Coss, age 90, of Canton, Georgia passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 26, 2023.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Joe) and son, David (Jackie); four grandchildren, Brendan, Stacy, Amanda and David; and many nieces and nephews residing in both the U.S. and Canada.
He was born and grew up in Canastota, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Emma Coss. He met the love of his life, Carmen Nepton in Tupper Lake, NY and they married and raised their family in Fayetteville, NY. He attended the Wilton School of Cake and Confectionery Art and was a baker until his retirement.
He loved to fish, bird watch, work on his crossword puzzles and watch his favorite western movies. He liked to quote John Wayne and one in particular that he liked was "Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway". Even after retiring his life-long passion for baking never stopped and family and friends enjoyed his fudge, cheesecakes, half moon cookies and bread.
He was always smiling, joking and making wise-cracks, and while he didn't have much, he was generous and kind and will be missed. He is finally reunited in Heaven with his love, Carmen--together again.
In his honor, consider making a donation to the National Scleroderma Foundation at scleroderma.org.
