Gideon Alawine, 50, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on April 3rd, 2021. Gideon was born in Carthage, Mississippi on June 15th, 1970, and was the son of the late Susie Alawine and Bobby D. Alawine. He is survived by his bride of nearly 28 years, Ecila Alawine, and his sisters, Esmeralda Alawine, Brenda Holmes (nee’ Alawine), and Yvonne Sanders (nee’ Alawine; he was Bubba to Yvonne--a joke between them). He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews from both his sister’s and his wife’s families. All loved their Uncle and Great Uncle very much. Gideon was an outstanding example of a true Christian: always willing to help all who needed him. He was kind, generous, loving, always sharing a smile and a wonderful sense of humor. As his boss stated, he was a ‘gentle giant’. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 9, 1987. In his early 20’s, he lived and worked at Jehovah’s Witnesses Headquarters in New York, New York where he met his lovely wife and was married on May 29th, 1993. They worked together to share their faith and love of God with all. He is greatly missed by all. But we know we shall see him again soon as we are told at Revelation 21:3,4 When “death will be no more” and at John 5:28 where “all will hear Jesus’ voice”.
