Glinda Cason Douglass

March 12, 1944 — April 16, 2024

Glinda Faye Cason Douglass, 80, passed away April 16, 2024, peacefully in her home in Acworth, Georgia, with her beloved husband of 45 years, Craig Douglass, and her sister, Barbara Cason Brinson, by her side. She was born March 12, 1944, in Paulding County Georgia to James Ernest and Bertha Mae Hitchcock Cason. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, her brothers, James Ernest Junior Cason (Shirley) and Billy Gerald Cason (Wylene) and her sister Mildred Cason Cole (Charles). Along with her husband and sister, she is survived by her sons, Clifford Cochran (Polly) of Dallas and Chad Cochran of Powder Springs, her grandchildren Christopher (Angie) Cochran of Murrayville, Madison Cochran and Heather Turner; great grandchildren, Riley, Georgia and Willow, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces

and nephews whom she adored and adored her.

Glinda graduated from Dallas High School in 1961. She grew up exploring Pumpkin Vine Creek and “the big rock” now in the WMA in Paulding county. She found a career in the lumber industry which led to a successful real estate career. She was an avid tennis and golf player but her most astonishing accomplishment is her many paintings. Whether painting landscapes or birds, she found a muse in nature.

The family is thankful for Heidi Hoffman and Susie Smith, two of her primary caregivers during this time, and to Enhabit Home Health & Hospice and their nurses and CNAs for giving her an unbelievable quality of life over the last few years. Our memories of Glinda are cherished. Memories are what Alzheimer’s stole from her during those last years of her life. Yet she maintained her grace and cheerful disposition. She continued to encourage others and be a blessing to her family.

A private memorial service for friends and family will be held in May. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kansas University Endowment, Attn: Glinda F. Douglass Alzheimer’s Disease Fund, 3901 Rainbow Blvd., #3012, Kansas City, KS, 66160.
