Gordon Dale Harris

Gordon Dale Harris, 88, formerly of Gallipolis, OH went to heaven on June 10, 2023, while visiting family in Marietta GA. He passed at the Wellstar Community Hospice Center in Marietta, GA.

Gordon was born on June 22, 1934, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to his late parents, Jeff and Wilda Harris. He is survived by his sister, Karen Harris Nelson of Ames, IA and he had 3 brothers, Garry, Larry, and Jim who are deceased.

Gordon is survived by the mother of his two children, Patricia Howerton of Bidwell, OH and their two loving children who grew up in Gallipolis, OH and graduated from Gallia Academy High School, Cynthia Harris Rogers of Newbury, NH and James Harris of Marietta, GA. Gordon is also survived by two grandchildren, Ryan Harris of Marietta, GA and Meghan Harris O’Toole in Roswell, GA.

Gordon was preceded in death by Hope Stephenson Harris, his loving wife of 42 years. During their marriage they lived in Gallipolis OH, Lakeland FL, Naples FL, and Morristown TN.

He is survived by two of Hope’s children, Teresa Stevers Antonopoulos of Gallipolis, OH/West Palm, FL and Dwight Stevers of Phoenix, AZ. Hope’s son, Gerald Stevers of Morristown, TN predeceased Gordon.

He was a member of Trinity Bible Church in Sutton, NH and the First Christian Church of Morristown, TN.
