James (Jim) Blair passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
James was born on September 19, 1936, to Allen and Louise Wacter Blair. James, a Georgia native, has resided in Thomaston, Stone Mountain and most recently in Dacula.
James was born in Thomaston, GA and graduated from Robert E Lee High School. After high school he joined the Army for two years, before furthering his education with a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University. He then transitioned to the insurance industry, working for State Farm, for over 30 years.
He married the love of his life, Charlotte Jeanette Plunkett, in 1959. Together they shared 45 years of marriage. During that time, they were blessed to adopt a son, Jonathan Blair, who became the center of their family.
Not only was James a great husband and a doting father, but he was also an artist, an avid reader, loved household projects, photography and loved to tell jokes.
James is survived by his son, Jonathan Blair, his brothers-in-law, Charles Wayne Plunkett (Janise Plunkett), Ralph Wade, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette Blair, his parents, and siblings.
