Janice Michelle Reynolds Phenix (Stephens)

October 10, 1965 — May 22, 2022

Born October 10, 1965 in Torrington, CT.  Janice Michelle Reynolds Phenix (Stephens), affectionately known as Michelle and Nanny of Woodstock, GA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22nd, 2022 . She had been suffering with the effects of MS and in the last years of her life with migraines, seizures, pain and the loss of use of her legs. Although her death was sudden, the timing seemed to be overseen by the Lord. She was predeceased by her father Arthur "Red" Stephens.  She is survived by her mother Janet Stephens, her two sisters, Stephanie Weaver (husband Harvey Hubbell) and Lynn Lovett (husband Greg Lovett), and a little black cat named Booboo. She lived with her beloved son Erick Reynolds and wife Kristen, and three grandchildren Elsa, Cora and Lucas, who were her best and finest joys in her life.   Michelle was involved and headed Future Business Leaders of America at high school, and went on to college and to court stenography school. Learning was easy for her, and she was smart and determined, and she set her sail first to Florida from Connecticut, and later to Georgia. In later years when her legs did not permit her to freely move, she took up photography, and her uncle Jerry Brown bought her first professional camera. She taught her family that there are beautiful creations right outside a window, if you only slow down and see them. She loved a laugh, even mildly poking fun at herself and others, and had a childlike love of holiday movies. She took up reading, and her enjoyment in that pursuit expanded her walls and wheelchair where she was confined. Her joy at listening to other’s adventures or achievements was expressed and genuine, and those who shared these events with her found their own pleasure multiplied. She has expressed many times that she was assured of being with the Lord in heaven, and that her body was light, white, and flying, riding tigers and bears.
