Jean Ellen (Anderson) Curry 86, of Jonesboro, GA formerly of St. Cloud, FL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct 3, 2022. Born in Worcester, MA on Nov 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Helmer and Olive Anderson, and wife of the late John Curry for 47 years.
She was predeceased by her brother David Anderson.
She leaves three step-children, Barbara French, John Curry, Jr., and Don Curry as well as a daughter, Paula Gibb-Severin, two nephews, Scott and Todd Anderson and several cousins.
She spent her younger years in the town of Spencer, MA graduating from David Prouty High School. From there she moved to Hamburg, AR and then to St. Cloud, FL where she would clean houses and businesses and worked in school cafeterias. Finally, she moved to Jonesboro GA, where Barbara could manage her care and make frequent visits.
Jean had a wonderful sense of humor, loved music and enjoyed playing the organ and accordion. Her claim to fame was she played the accordion on a local Massachusetts Talent TV show “Community Auditions”. She was active in Grace Lutheran church in St. Cloud FL for many years.
A private funeral service will be held in Hawaii and she will be interned at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii next to her husband John.
