Joe Manley Hembree

November 12, 1935 — April 10, 2023

Hembree, Joe M., 87, of Euharlee, Georgia went home to the Lord on April 10, 2023 while abiding with family and friends.


Joe was born and raised in Cannon, Georgia, the son of Frank J. Hembree and Mary E. Chatham. Step-son to Branston C. Chatham and grandson to Mary Manley. In addition to his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Margaret M. (Sziber) Hembree, Joe is survived by Hugh & Judy Chatham of Woodstock, GA, Robert & Elizabeth Chatham of Richmond, VA, Harry & Sally Sziber of Vassar, MI, Sue Anglin of Euharlee, GA, Pete & Nina Sziber of Sterns, KY, Vera Hellard of Taylorsville, GA, numerous nieces and nephews; God children, Jerald, James, Megan Hellard; family pets, Precious & Kit-Kat; brothers & sisters of Euharlee Baptist Church.


A retiree of Cobb EMC, Joe was known for his contagious laughter. His out going expressive nature kept all around him wondering what he would come up with next. Equipped with a kind heart, he conveyed to all his giving and genuine authenticity.


Joe enjoyed his music, Sunday School class, working in his garden, old westerns, the Atlanta Braves, his mother dressing, his “Baby Girl” and of course “Elvis”. Special times were family and friends get togethers with food and stories.


Joe was a member of Euharlee Baptist Church.


Services for Joe will be held at Euharlee Baptist Church on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
