John Coggins Vaughan

John Coggins "Johnny" Vaughan, age 81, of Rydal, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his home. He was born on September 11, 1942 in Rydal, Georgia to the late Wiley Forester Vaughan and Margaret Charm Hannon.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane Smith Vaughan, three daughters: Leslie (Robby) Simmons, Barbara (Matt) Terry, and Theresa Vaughan; and grandchildren: Will, Wiley and Margaret Simmons, and Alice and Emma Terry. He is preceded in death by his brother Wiley Taylor Vaughan.

He devoted his life to his family and to agriculture. He appreciated a straight row and a clean field.

The family will receive family and friends at noon on January 15, 2024. A funeral mass will be held at 1pm at St. Francis Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Francis Church Building Fund or Bartow Family Resources.

Internment will be a private ceremony in a family cemetery on the Vaughan Farm.
