John Nicholas Discenza

John Nicholas DiScenza passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the age of 88. John, the oldest of two brothers, was born in Auburn, NY on March 26, 1934. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen. He is survived by his brother, Nick, daughter Susan and son John, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John served with distinction in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Iowa during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. After his enlistment he met and married his future wife, Helen in Auburn, NY in 1959. They were inseparable until her passing in 2015. John worked in operations for US Airways for 30 years before retiring. They moved to Florida in search of warmer weather and settled in Ft. Lauderdale before moving to Georgia in 2011. John enjoyed doting on his wife, watching sports and eating out.
