John Terry Ortstadt

John "Terry" Ortstadt went on to be with our Lord Monday, April 22, 2019, in Marietta, GA at the age of 77. His Funeral service will be in Birmingham AL at St. Paul's Cathedral followed by a reception at the Cathedral. Mr. Ortstadt was born on August 12, 1941, to John L. Ortstadt and Jeanee Beaumont Ortstadt in Virginia and grew up in Homewood, AL. He was a 1959 graduate of Shades Valley High School. He attended Auburn University where he wrestled and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order (class of 1961). Terry never met a stranger and truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He had a passion for Auburn athletics, classic cars, and anything off the grill. He is preceded by his brother, Blair Ortstadt, and his daughter Montye T. Gardner. He is survived by his ex-wife Ann Baumgartner Ortstadt, son John (Laura) Ortstadt, and five grandkids, Anna Grace and Julia Gardner, and John Francis, Michael, and Frank Ortstadt.
