John Wayne Adams, 83 of Woodstock Georgia passed peacefully early morning Friday, January 4th, 2019. John served in the Korean War, Cpl 7th Division Korea Engineers in the Army. He was born in Williamsport, PA January 7th, 1935 and moved to Woodstock, GA in 1983 where he was a skilled Brick Mason by trade. He was also a long-time truck driver, part of the Teamsters Union and a former member of the Free Masons. John had an infectious sense of humor and was known for his one liners and quick wit. He truly enjoyed singing country music, such as Johnny Cash, as well as playing the acoustic guitar. He took pride in working in his yard and visiting with the community. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Shirley Adams. He is survived by his son, Guy Adams and daughter Michele Granville of Woodstock. John had 5 grandchildren, Justin Granville, Alysia Granville, Dalton Adams, Emma Adams and Olivia Adams and 1 great grandson, Elijah Granville, all of Woodstock, GA. He loved and enjoyed his family. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. A private memorial service will be held at Rolling Hills Memorial Gardens on Monday, January 7, 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Veterans Administration would be greatly appreciated as John loved our Veterans from all branches.
