David Rodriguez, age 35 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on December 16th, 2022 after a valiant 3.5 year battle against leukemia.
He was born on September 27th, 1987 in Ecuador, to the late Santos & Nelly Rodriguez. He moved to New Jersey as a baby and then spent his childhood in Tennessee before moving to Georgia as a teenager. It is there that he met his wife Shaina while working as a dialysis technician in 2011. They married in 2013 and became parents of two beautiful daughters, Eva and Elia.
Before David became sick with leukemia in 2019, he was passionate about his job as a dialysis technician and was beloved by all his patients and staff. He was a gentle giant and all who knew him, loved him. He was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. He was incredibly proud to be Hispanic and instilled that deep pride in his daughters. He was an active member of the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist Church and enjoyed being involved in programs such as the Adventurer’s Club and the Men’s Ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Shaina Clough Rodriguez, and their daughters Eva Leigh Rodriguez (8) and Elia Iris Rodriguez (3). He is also survived by his three older sisters, Aracely Hernandez, Sandra Rodriguez, and Annabel Rodriguez, as well as his nieces and nephews, Kayla Acosta, Leahny Acosta, Jonathan Hernandez, and Jace Romero. He was an amazingly loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, and will be greatly missed. He had a very strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and was confident that he will see his family again in Heaven.
His memorial service will take place on Friday, December 23rd, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 1411 Rome Rd. SW, Calhoun, GA 30701.
David was very focused on the importance of Christian education. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coble Elementary School Worthy Student Fund at www.cobleschool.com.
“Good people pass away;
the godly often die before their time.
But no one seems to care or wonder why.
No one seems to understand
that God is protecting them from the evil to come.
For those who follow godly paths
will rest in peace when they die.”
