Josephine Delurice Peart was born on October 2, 1957, in Bath Somerset in the United Kingdom. She was the only daughter of six children born to Eva and Leonard Peart. She was raised by Stanley Plummer. Josephine accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of First United Tabernacle International Ministries after moving to the United States. She attended Selhurst School for Girls in Croydon, England where she graduated in 1973. Throughout her life she was faced with challenges but faced them head on by embracing her favorite scripture Psalms 37:1 “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity”. Josephine understood the importance of maintaining a proper relationship with God and did not succumb to anxiety and fear during any unfortunate circumstance life presented. She understood the reward of trusting in the Lord and finding joy in all things. Josephine’s faith was steadfast, and God remained the center of her life. Her greatest fulfillment came from serving others in times of need. She was known for her selflessness and continuous acts of kindness. Her smile, sense of humor and laughter was contagious and would always warm the hearts of everyone she met. She was a devoted mother, daughter, nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Josephine was talented beyond measure. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crafting and spending time with her family. She is most remembered for her state-of-the-art cake designs and customized fashions. Her favorite place to frequent was the beach where she enjoyed pure relaxation. If she could do one thing forever, it would be spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. Josephine leaves to cherish her memory two beautiful daughters Selena Swan and Shanda Barnes; two handsome sons Jovarne Barnes and JeWayne Barnes; seven grandchildren Alliyana Barnes, Jayden Swan, Ashayla Barnes, Julian Barnes, Aden Gladden, Eva Swan and Avasia Barnes; son in law Michael Swan; daughter in law Lachelle Adams and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
