Mrs. Juanita “Memaw” Deason Parker of Canton, Georgia, quietly and peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on July 26, 2020, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with a chronic illness. Mrs. Parker was born and raised near East Point, Georgia, where she learned gardening and baking from her parents, and became known for her baking skills. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of East Point, Georgia, for many years. Juanita found strength in her faith and support from her family, which helped her raise her 2 younger sons after the untimely passing of her husband, James. Before living out the later part of her life in Woodstock and Canton, Georgia, she spent several years in Savannah, Georgia, near her brother and mother. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Parker, of East Point, Georgia. She is survived by her 4 children, son, Steve (Cheryl), daughter, Chris, son, Stuart, and son, Jeff (Sheryl). She is also survived by 7 Grandchildren, Brian, Jamie, Chrystal, James, Jennifer, Chase, Laura, 22 Great Grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Maddie, Connor, Wesley, Leigh, Macy, Josiah, Savannah, Eliviah, Isaiah, Luke, Noah, Brooke, Annabelle, Bryleigh, Emalynn, Landon, Brantley, Harley, William, Harper, and 1 Great Great Grandchild, Maddox. Juanita is also survived by her sister, Janice Chastain, brother Garry Deason, and numerous nieces and nephews. Although Juanita held various jobs over the years, “Memaw’s” greatest passion and joy was her faith and family. A private memorial service is being held by the family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Saint Jude’s Children Hospital (www.stjude.org) in the name of Juanita D. Parker.
