Surrounded by her family, Kelley Lee Lilly, 60, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away to meet Christ on September 24, 2021. She was born November 19, 1960 in Gate City, Virginia, the daughter of Margaret Ann McConnell and the late Charles McFarlane. She grew up and attended school in Gate City, went on to attend Virginia Tech and graduated from The Medical College of Virginia with a degree in physical therapy. Over the course of 37 years as a physical therapist, she served the communities of Johnson City (TN), Roanoke (VA), Sanford (NC), and Cartersville (GA) in their hospital inpatient populations. A lover of music, Kelley was involved in multiple music ministries at First Baptist Church of Sanford, playing piano for the elementary school children’s choirs and as a part of the handbell choir for 20 years. She was also a nearly invincible opponent in any trivia game. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael Lilly, son Zachary Lilly, and daughter Madison (Lilly) Scott, along with numerous nephews and a niece. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 9 at First Baptist Church in Sanford, NC, located at 202 Summitt Dr, Sanford, NC 27330. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m., with visitation to follow at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at www.bcrf.org in honor of Kelley.
