Larry Mikel Cochran, age 77 and resident of Legacy Ridge at Woodstock passed away December 22, 2022 after suffering complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was lovingly surrounded by his daughter Amy Gustafson, brother Bobby Cochran and sister-in-law Cheryl Cochran at the time of his passing.
Larry was born November 22, 1945, in Marietta, GA and was the son of the late Hoyt and Jewell Cochran. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Sam Cochran, Sylvia Meadows, Donna LeVert.
Larry served his country well as a Marine of the United States Marine Corp and loved his country with all of his heart (Oorah!). He was a retiree from the Georgia Department of Labor.
In his free time Larry most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling to the mountains and the beach, hunting, watching football, Nascar and old westerns. He was always willing to lend a hand and was very generous, playful and loving in nature. Larry truly never met a stranger and had the best sense of humor.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Amy Gustafson, granddaughter Chloe Gustafson, brother Bobby Cochran as well as many family members near and far that loved him dearly.
A private memorial will be decided on and disclosed at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Foundation, in Larry’s name at https://act.alz.org.
I would like to say a special thank you to Wayne and Cathy Meadows and the staff at Legacy Ridge at Woodstock for helping to take such wonderful care of dad. No words can begin to express my gratitude.
